Underlying the rubber seal itself is often a steel strip or wire carrier， usually chosen to support the rubber mechanically and to provide a means of installation。 By using either steel or wire carrier， the edge protection sections will grip well， without the use of adhesives or tapes - however， the use of a steel carrier will also have a higher clamping effect than a wire carrier and is therefore advised where there are high-vibration applications。

The disadvantage of a profile with an unbroken steel carrier strip is seen in a restricted bending radius。 This can be solved by breaking the connecting sprags。 However， an uneven surface may develop if this is done。 In most technical applications the aesthetics will usually be considered irrelevant。

Sintering happens when the small metal particles in the clay get hot enough for the metal atoms of touching particles to begin to diffuse into each other。 Atpowder metal first， there are a lot of connected open spaces between these particles。 This is why， in the early stages of sintering， the piece is weaker。 As sintering progesses， the particles coalesce more and the spaces get smaller。 The metal gets less porous and stronger， until the piece is fully sintered。 So， the sintered state ranges from a beginning stage to complete。 Depending upon what you are making， and/or what you are co-firing， you may need or want to accept the sintering at an earlier stage or take it all the waysintered metal to fully sintered。
The sintering process is also the cause of shrinkage。 Shrinkage for carbon-fired clays can be a bit mysterious。 A piece can shrink at different rates in different directions。 The forces on the clay that cause shrinkage during firing are not very strong。 Because of this， if there is any resistance on the clay， it will inhibit shrinkage in that direction。 But， as we know， due to the sintering process the clay must shrink。 What will happen is there willsintered metal be more shrinkage in the directions with lesser resistance。

Carbon can hold back the shrinkage of firing clay， providing the resistance we are talking about。 The lesson here is to pay close attention to the position of pieces in the firing chamber， as it has an effect on the shrinkage。 Also， carbon resisting the shrinkage can distort the piece。 This is why we cover openwork pieces to keep the carbon out of the openings。

Thin pieces sinter practically all at once。 But for thick pieces it takes time for the heat to penetrate。 The outside will be sintering at a faster rate than the inside。 It is even possible to have a piece that has a sintered shell on the outside while the inside is remains a powder。 This occurs when the ramp is faster than the heat can penetrate the thickness。 That is why it is wise to slow the ramp when firing thick pieces。 It gives the heat time to gradually soak into the piece。

台中CNC加工-常用幾種CNC加工中心的功能

　　（1）立式加工中心 龍門加工 　　立式加工中心的主軸處于垂直位置。它能完成銑削、镗削、鑽削、攻螺紋和切削螺紋等工序。立式加工中心最少是三軸二聯動，一般可實現三軸三聯動。有的可進行五軸、六軸控制，工藝人員可根據其同時控制的軸數確定該加工中心的加工範圍。

　　立式加工中心立柱高度是有限的，確定Z軸的運動範圍時要考慮：

　　①工件的高度；

　　②工裝夾具的高度；

　　③刀具的長度；

　　④機械手換刀占用的空間。

　　在考慮上述四種情況之後，立式加工中心對箱體類工件加工範圍要減少CNC銑床加工，這是立式加工中心的弱點。但立式加工中心有下列優點：

　　①工件易裝夾，可用通用的夾具如平口鉗、壓板、分度頭、回轉工作台等裝夾工件，工件的裝夾定位方便；

　　②刀具運動軌迹易觀察，調試程序檢查測量方便，可及時發現問題，進行停機處理或修改；

　　③冷卻條件易建立，冷卻液能直接到達刀具和加工表面；

　　④坐標系即X、Y、Z三個坐標軸與笛卡兒坐標系吻合，感覺直觀與圖紙視角一致；

　　⑤切屑易排除和掉落，避免切屑劃傷加工過的表面；

　　⑥結構一般采用單柱式，它與相應的臥式加工中心相比，結構簡單、占地面積較小，價格較低。

　　立式加工中心（圖5-1）最適于加工Z軸方向尺寸相對較小的工件，一般的情況下除底面不能加工外，其余五個面都可用不同的刀具進行輪廓和表面加工。

　　（2）臥式加工中心

　　臥式加工中心的主軸是水平設置的銑床加工。一般的臥式加工中心有三個到五個坐標軸，常配有一個回轉軸（或回轉工件台），主軸轉速在10～10000r／min之內，最小分辨率一般爲lμm，定位精度爲10μm—20μm。臥式加工中心刀庫容量一般較大，有的刀庫可存放幾百把刀具。臥式加工中心的結構較立式加工中心複雜，體積和占地面積較大，價格也較高。臥式加工中心較適于加工箱體類零件。只要一次裝夾在回轉工作台上，即可對箱體（除頂面和底面之外）的四個面進台中機械加工行銑、镗、鑽、攻絲等加工。特別是對箱體類零件上的一些孔和型腔有位置公差要求的（如孔系之間的平行度、孔與端面的垂直度、端面與底面的垂直度等），以及孔和型腔與基准面（底面）有嚴格尺寸精度要求的，在臥式加工中心上通過一次裝夾加工，容易得到保證，適合于批量工件的加工。臥式加工中心程序調試時，不如立式加工中心直觀、容易觀察，對工件檢查和測量也感不便，且對複雜零件的加工程序調試時間是正常加工CNC搪床加工的幾倍，所以加工的工件數量越多，平均每件占用機床的時間越少，因此用臥式加工中心進行批量加工才合算。但它可實現普通設備難以達到的精度和質量要求，因此一些精度要求高，其它設備無法達到其精度要求的工件，特別是一些空間曲面和形狀複雜的工件，即使是單件生産，也可考慮在臥式加工中心上加工。由此可見加工中心即是高效、高質量的自動化生産設備，又是攻克工藝難題的設備。

　　臥式加工中心的坐標系與立式加工中心坐標系即X、Y、Z三軸在空間上是不同的。而且臥式加工中心冷卻條件不如立式的好，特別是對深孔的镗、銑、鑽等，冷卻液難以到達切削深處，因此，必須降低機床的轉速和台中CNC加工進給量、降低了生産效率。與立式加工中心相比，臥式加工中心的功能多，在立式加工中心上加工不了的工件，在臥式加工中心上一般的都能加工。此外臥式加工中心的回轉工作台有的是數控的，有的是分度的，工件一次裝夾可實現多個工位的加工。總的來說臥式加工中心有其優點，也有不足，使用時用其優避其劣。

　　（3）多工作台加工中心

　　多工作台加工中心有時稱爲柔性加工單元（FMC）。它有兩個以上可更換的工作台，通過運送軌道可把加工完的工件連同工作台（托盤）一起移出加工部位，然後把裝有待加工工件的工作台（托盤）送到加工部位，這種可交換的工作台可設置多個，實現多工作台加工。其優點是可實現在線裝夾，即在進行加工的同時，下邊的工作台進行裝、卸工件，另外可在其它工作台上都裝上待加工的工件，開動機床後，能完成對這一批工件的自動加工，工作台上的工件可以是相同的，也可以是不同的。這都可由程序進行處理。多工作台加工中心有立式的，也有臥式的。無論立式還是臥式，其結構都較複雜，刀庫容量較大，機床占地面積大，控制系統功能較全。計算速度快，內存容量大。采用的都是最先進的CNC。net" target="_blank" class="relatedlink">CNC系統，所以價格昂貴。

　　（4）複合加工中心

　　複合加工中心也稱多工面加工中心，是指工件一次裝夾後，能完成多個面的加工的設備。現有的五面加工中心，它在工件一次裝夾後，能完成除安裝底面外的五個面的加工。這種加工中心兼有立式和臥式加工中心的功能，在加工過程中可保證工件的位置公差。常見的五面加工中心有兩種形式，一種是主軸做 或相應角度旋轉，可成爲立式加工中心或臥式加工中心。另一種是工作台帶著工件做 旋轉，主軸不改變方向而實現五面加工。無論是哪種五面加工中心都存在著結構複雜，造價昂貴的缺點。

　　五面加工中心的功能比多工作台加工中心的功能還要多，控制系統先進，其價格是工作台尺寸相同的多工位加工中心的二倍左右。
